sensitive habitat

the site of ehaec is nestled within the forested hillsides of ellis hollow. a combination of the cascadilla creek corridor and adjecent large wetland complex creates a critical habitat area for sensitive species such as riparian birds and amphibians. ehaec is comitted to protect and enhance this wildlife refuge by promoting biological diversity and countering the negative effects of human impact.



priority actions include:


  • identify locally listed species and critical habitat areas 

  • irradicate invasive plants

  • develop an appropriate native plant list

  • collect plant seed/cuttings on-site for propagation

  • apply organic soil amendments when needed

  • implement erosion control 

  • install graze protection on unestablished plants

  • monitor and document the site development
